Reproductive Mental Health

The transition into trying to conceive and parenthood is often portrayed as a time of great joy and excitement, which it can be. It can also bring unexpected stress and challenges. For some, the experience during this time period is different than one imagined, which can lead to sadness and disappointment. Further, the period of trying to conceive and transitioning to parenthood, can lead to an increase in concerns such as depression and/or anxiety and relationship distress. Experiencing these struggles can often lead parents to feel isolated and scared. Psychotherapy is a great tool during these vulnerable times to help address any mental health concerns and find a place of connection and support. In addition to my general psychotherapy practice, I specialize in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, fertility concerns and pregnancy loss. I provide a safe, supportive space to process these complex emotions and work with each person to identify tools to help navigate this time period.

I work with individuals experiencing:

  • Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders in pregnancy and postpartum

  • Infertility

  • Pregnancy Complications

  • Termination of Pregnancy

  • Termination of Pregnancy for Medical Reasons (TFMR)

  • Traumatic or Disappointing Childbirth Experience

  • Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Newborn Loss

  • Premature Birth and NICU stays

  • Changing Identity

  • Attachment Concerns

  • Family Dynamics and Relationship Concerns

  • Work/Life Balance

  • Guilt and Worry

  • Body Image Concerns
